Hand Carved Santa

Hand Carved Santa features fine wood carvings from skilled Russian artists. Each carved Santa takes many hours of carving , finishing, and then hand painting to achieve the beautiful results like those pictured here.

December 6th marks the Feast Day of St. Nicholas of Myra; a Turkish bishop who became the patron saint of Moscow and Santa to the world. Due to the suppression of religion during the Soviet regime, St. Nicholas was replaced by Ded Moroz or Grandfather Frost, the Russian Spirit of Winter who brought gifts on New Year's. So whether you know him as Santa Claus or Father Frost you will be delighted with the variety of wood carvings we offer.

All of our pieces are carried in stock and each unique carved Santa has been individually photographed to allow you to see the beautiful detail of the carving and painting.
